Alice Champagne:
Alice holds a B.S. in Environmental
Engineering from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and is a
Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC). In 2000, she
was elected as a Cobb County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor
for Georgia. She was appointed by Governor Perdue in 2004 to serve on the
Stakeholder Advisory Board which provides oversight for Georgia’s mandatory
education and certification for erosion and sediment control. She has served
on the Georgia Adopt-A-Stream Advisory Board and is an active member of the
International Erosion Control Association and the Soil and Water
Conservation Society. Alice has been employed with the Upper
Chattahoochee Riverkeeper since its inception in 1994, and currently serves
as the Director of Technical Programs. She manages the HOTLINE Response
Program (over 300 calls/emails per year), the stream buffer protection
program and the erosion and sediment control program. In addition, she
conducts field investigations, provides technical assistance to communities
and sub-watershed groups and coordinates the “Get the Dirt Out” campaign,
training others to monitor construction sites from polluted stormwater
runoff. |

Johnny Gaskins:
John holds a degree in Civil Engineering
Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University. He is currently CEO
of Gaskins Surveying and Engineering Company, a multidisciplined Civil
Engineering, Land Surveying, Land Planning, and Environmental firm,
employing 60 persons. Having been involved in the land development industry
since 1971, John is also President/Partner of Total Development, Inc., a
General Contracting Construction firm focusing on all phases of development.
He has held local and statewide positions in the Surveying and Mapping
Society of Georgia. Currently, he is a member of the Southern Polytechnic
State University Foundation, previously serving on the executive committee,
and is actively involved on the Development Regulations and Zoning Ordinance
Citizens Advisory Committee in Cobb County, GA. John was appointed to the
Cobb County Soil and Water Conservation District as a board member in 2000.
He also attends and is a member of the Church of the Apostles in Atlanta,
GA, and is an avid outdoorsman, who enjoys hunting, golfing and biking in
his spare time.

Jim Lanier:
Jim holds a Bachelor of Agriculture in Plant Sciences from the University of
Georgia. He has been involved in the land development industry in several
capacities since 1976 and is currently President/Owner of Aquascape
Environmental, an environmental consulting and contracting company. A
Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), Jim is often
called on to speak to professional and educational groups on topics relating
to erosion control, stream restoration, and other aquatic resource issues.
In 2003, he was appointed to the Board of the Cobb County Soil and Water
Conservation District. Jim has served on the boards of several other
organizations, including the Georgia Lakes Society, the Georgia Exotic Pest
Plant Council, and the Georgia Vegetation Management Association. He also
volunteers his time and resources to a variety of natural resource
protection and preservation groups. When not working he enjoys hiking, rock
climbing, water sports, and other activities involving the outdoors. |

Woody Snell:
Woody received a M.S. in Management from Georgia Tech and a B.S. in Civil
Engineering from Clemson University and is a registered Professional
Engineer in Georgia. In 1999, Woody was elected as a Cobb County Soil and
Water Conservation District Supervisor and in 2001 he was elected as
Chairman of the Cobb Soil and Water Conservation District. Woody also serves
on the Soil and Water Commission Technical Advisory Committee and the Cobb
County Development Standards Committee. He has previously served on the
State of Georgia NPDES Advisory Committee, the Fulton County Watershed
Initiative Committee and the Fulton County Development Advisory Committee.
Woody has twenty years of experience in construction, engineering,
management and marketing with specific expertise in land development and
construction management. As a partner with The Pacific Group he is actively
involved in the development of a number of residential and mixed-use
communities within the Atlanta area. He is also responsible for
pre-acquisition due diligence evaluations and feasibility studies.
Previously, Woody gained experience as the project manager for a 450-acre
master planned community in San Juan, Puerto Rico and as a principle
geotechnical engineer with Law Engineering. |
