Governor Makes New Appointments to GSWCC State Board

Governor Deal announced today five new appointments for the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission State Board:

Region I: Jason Winters

Lyerly, GA

Mr. Winters is the Chattooga County Commissioner and is also involved with the Georgia Rural Development Council.

Region II: Drew Echols

Alto, GA

Mr. Echols is the managing partner at Jaemor Farms in Alto.  He also serves on the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Board and on the UGA College Agricultural Council.

Region III: Garland Thompson

Douglas, GA

Mr. Thompson has served on the Altamaha Soil and Water Conservation District Board since 1974, and is also a long-serving GSWCC State Board Member, most recently serving as Board Chairman.

Region IV: Harold Fallin

Thomaston, GA

Mr. Fallin is the owner and operator of Hickory Hill Farm.  He serves on the Two Rivers RC&D Board, the Upper Flint Regional Water Planning Council, and the Upson County Farm Bureau Board.  Mr. Fallin is also a Towaliga Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor.

Region V: Bob Martin

Ocilla, GA

Mr. Martin owns and operates a farm in Irwin County.  He is a Middle South Georgia Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor.

The Swearing-In Ceremony for the new Board Members is scheduled to take place tomorrow (Thursday) at 2:30 PM.
